Home Inspection Toronto FAQs
- Are you certified?
YES. First Capitol Inspection only uses certified personel.
- We are insured and fully certified by InterNACHI (International Association of Certified Home Inspectors)
- We are also IAC2 (International Association of Certified Indoor Air Consultants) certified for mold and air quality sampling in Toronto and surrounding areas.
- Is a home inspection really necessary?
YES.
- It's usually a condition of the offer. Almost every offer states anytime a home is being bought or sold, an inspection must be performed.
- It's just good business sense. For buyers and sellers it is better to know the true and un-biased condition of the home.
- Sellers should take advantage of a pre-listing home inspection.
This way they can fix or repair their home to add value and potentially increase the price before listing.
- Buyers should always insist on having a pre-purchase home inspection.
This way you can negotiate well and recieve the house with a clear understanding of the undertaking.
- Have you been in business long?
YES.
- We have been in the businesses of construction, building, inspecting, and development for over 15 years.
- Is First Capitol Inspection the right inspector for my home?
YES.
- Owner Neil Rudberg started his career in the family business as a builder.
- He understands your home from the ground up and can explain the realities of its condition.
- Do you help buyers and sellers make their buying / selling decision?
YES & NO.
- Yes... The information we gather will help buyers and sellers make informed decisions.
- No... We do not otherwise insert ourselves into the buying / selling decision.
We only deliver the message, what is done with that information is up to each person to decide on their own.
- Does an inspection take long?
NO.
- Typical homes take 2-3 hours to inspect.
- Larger and older homes can take a bit longer.
- Anyway, isn't it better to take a few hours to gain a little peace of mind in the long run?
- Can I be there while you do the inspection?
YES.
- It is VERY important for you to follow along during the inspection.
- There will be several 'teachable moments' throughout the inspection process.
- This way, we can discuss any problems immediately and you can understand - in depth - what they are.
- Although the final report will point out any finding, it will be easier for you to have seen it first hand, just like the inspector.
